West Zone prepares for Suva tourney

The Western Zone aims to better their performance at the 2013 Fiji Secondary Schools Basketball competition. The Western schools had their 10th round of Tuckers-sponsored competition at the multi-purpose Court yesterday.
Natabua High School fielded 144 players in the Western Zone competition. West Zone president Kelevi Serukalou said they would not be having any finals but will play round robin competitions for their build up to the 2013 Fiji Secondary Schools competition in Suva on August 26-29.
“At the moment we have 280 players competing in the West Zone and we are impressed with the numbers that are coming in every week,”Serukalou said. “Natabua fields in two U19 teams, three U17 boys and girls team, two U15 boys and girls team,” Serukalou said.
So far Central College Lautoka U19 boys are the favorites and Natabua are favourites for the girls.
“Our aim is to prepare all our schools well and win in the national competitions,”he said. “We want to applaud Tuckers for their continuous support and sponsorship.”

Girls:U15 Lautoka All Stars 14 Natabua 6; U17 Tilak 22 Natabua 17; U19 Natabua 10 St Thomas 5.
Boys: U15 Natabua 23 Lautoka All Stars 7;U17 Natabua Two 24 Natabua One 7;
U19 St Thomas 24 Tilak 21.
