Development work continues at Monfort Boys Town

For the past 4 weeks BF has been conducting development clinics with the students from Monfort Boys Town in the schools indoor gym. The program is part of BF’s Outreach Program to conduct development work with schools outside the Suva area. The program reaches up to 25 students on Tuesdays every week from 5pm to 6pm, which witnesses many enthusiastic teenagers learning the game for the very first time. The students not only are working hard on the court but also off it as well as they have shown their handiwork by assembling two backboards and rings to the outdoor court structures that have previously been unused to help with their shooting practice.

Basketball Fiji hopes to run an internal competition within the school in the weeks to come in the bid to prepare the students for the upcoming National Secondary Schools Championships that will commence on the 24th – 28th August, 2009.

BF wishes to thank Brother Thomas for allowing his students to be involved in our program and his commitment to basketball.
