LBSS ousts champs to create upset at schools basketball

Laucala Bay Secondary School Under 17 boys created the biggest upset today in the Tuckers Secondary Schools Basketball tournament after they beat defending champions Marist Brothers High School in the quarter finals.
 
Laucala Bay beat Marist 37-29 in the first quarter finals this afternoon and is expected to meet either Yat Sen Secondary or Natabua in the semi finals tomorrow.
 
In the other quarter finals of the boys Under 17 grade, Yat Sen will meet Natabua Secondary School, Eudopia play Latter Day Saints while International School Suva meet Queen Victoria School.
 
Meanwhile, in the Under 19 boys grade, Marist Brothers High School and Natabua have qualified for the semifinals after winning their quarter finals respectively.
 
Marist beat Yat Sen 36-19 and are expected to meet either Saint Thomas High School or Ba Provincial Freebird Institute in their semifinal.
 
Natabua thrashed QVS 47-17 and are waiting for the winner of the LDS and Gospel match to confirm who they play in the semis.
 
In the other quarter finals for the Under 19 boys grade, Saint Thomas play Ba Provincial Freebird Institute while LDS meet Gospal later this afternoon.
