St Johns College joined Secondary School Championship
For the first time ever, The Tuckers Ice Cream National Secondary School Basketball Competition will feature a team from outside Viti Levu.
St John’s College, located in Cawaci Ovalau, in Levuka will be competing in this year’s competition fielding two teams in the U19 boys and U19 girl’s grades.
Principal and manger Father Ekuasi will be travelling to Suva with the 24 member squad team and will be camping at John Wesley College in Raiwaqa. The team members ages ranges from 14 years – 18 years.
Principal and Coach Father Ekuasi advised that the school has been aware of the competition, however they have never committed and mainly because the school itself does not have a basketball court to enhance their skills.
This year’s participation for them will be a platform for greater things to come as far as basketball is confirmed.
The team will be arriving in camp this Sunday.
