Kaji Basketball Program Reaches Out

The Kaji Basketball Program has had a very successful launch over the past two weeks visiting numerous schools within the Suva district during their physical education classes. Basketball Development Officers Lai Paumau, Kelevi Serukalou and FIBA Oceania representative Mark Seccombe have been busy teaching basketball skills to over 300 children during the past 2 weeks with more schools lining up to get involved.

The schools visited thus far are International Primary, Stella Maris and Holy Trinity with Gospel Primary and Latter Day Saints Primary having their chance to play in the coming days. Basketball Fiji is excited to grow the sport in the primary schools are they see this program as a wonderful opportunity. The children have loved learning the skills of basketball through drills and games. Lots of smiles, lots of laughter, lots of fun!

The Primary School Basketball Competition has been postponed til the 6th of March at International School as schools prepare their teams with further coaching from Basketball Fiji Coaching Staff before they hit the court. More news on Basketball Fiji’s Inaugural Primary School Basketball Competition coming soon.

Many thanks to all the schools participating in the program.
