Grace Taito selected to represent Fiji in the 2009 Singapore Youth Camp in December

Basketball Fiji's nomination form of Grace Taito has been successful and at 15 years old Grace will be the female representative of Fiji to the 2009 Singapore Friendship Camp on the 8th- 12th December. The Sigapore Friendship camp is a special part of the Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games with the goal of promoting the Olympics values among participants and providing them with unique experience and the opportunity to form life-long friendships. Basketball Fiji believes that the camp will add value to Graces leadership qualities and the trip will be both beneficial to Grace and Basketball Fiji.

Grace comes from a very promising acadamic and basketball background where at the tender age of 14 was part of the National U20 Women's Team that won bronze in the recent 2008 FIBA Oceania U20 Youth Tournament that was held in Guam. At 15 Grace opted to jump two age groups, using her international experience to guide her school to winning the U19 girls title in the Twisties sponsored 2009 National Secondary Schools Basketball Championships in August. Grace is a young and promisng basketball player and with the right guidance and opportunties she will go far in the sport.

Basketball Fiji would like to acknowledge FASANOC for approving the federations nomination and for providing Grace with the opportunity to gain valuable experience that will not only add value to her but the players and peers around her.

Congradulations Grace!!
