NBDO WORKSHOP IN COFFS HARBOUR, AUSTRALIA

NBDO’s from around the Oceania region have gathered for a FIBA Oceania Organised National Basketball Development Officer (NBDO) workshop in Coffs Harbour in Australia. NBDO’s from Guam, Palau, Tonga, Marshal Islands, Solomon Island, Samoa, Kiribati, Vanuatu, Australia and Fiji are attending a 2 weeks NBDO Workshop held in Coffs Harbour, Australia. The 2 weeks NBDO Workshop commenced on Monday 8th April 2013 with a presentation by FIBA Oceania General Secretary Steve Smith on the roles, responsibilities and challenged the NBDO’s to be the best that they can. Judy Smith (FIBA Oceania Project Manager) spoke to the group on important pointers on presenting to an audience. Former Australian basketball Olympian Annie La Fleur who is the new FIBA Oceania Development Manager conducted a Level 0 Coaching Course for the learning Development Officers. Follow the Coaching Course; each participant conducted a 10 minutes presentation on a successful program that they organised in their respective home country.

Fiji’s own NBDO Laisiasa Puamau who is attending the workshop acknowledged the hard working staff of FIBA Oceania in facilitating the program and the Australian Government through rge Australian Leadership Awards Fellowship Program for funding the NBDO Program.
