International, Natabua on top

Basketball Fiji development officer Mark Seccombe has placed his bet on International School and Natabua High to win the Fiji Secondary Schools Twisties Basketball Championship.

International school lost to Later Day Saints on Saturdaye 32-36.

However, Seccombe believes the experience of Moses Syrome would be the winning factor for them.

“I’m betting on International to win this championship. They have experienced players on the side but still struggle to find their rhythm.” “Despite the upset from LDS I believe this team would do well heading into the knockout stages.”

Lautoka-based Natabua High hits the limelight after upsetting Suva Grammar School 24-14 at the Vodafone Arena yesterday.

Seccombe said Natabua would be one of the forces to reckon at the championship.

“Natabua is a good team. They cause some upsets in some grades and they should do well.”

He praised the level of competition at secondary school level yesterday.

“The level of competition is very impressive and I think these western teams are giving the Suva schools a good run. Their knowledge has grown and I believe only the best team will win,” he said.
