Boston bounces back

THE Easter Basketball Championships has seen most of the top guns leading the charge. The Eroni Cinavilakeba-led Boston side bounced back with a win over Baseliners to keep their Easter hopes alive and will need to defeat Nadi All Stars to qualify for the quarter-final stages. "It was tough but I guess we went into the game thinking we were still the same young players we used to be but age really has caught up on most of our players. We did our best and now have to beat Nadi. I don't know what to expect from the Western side because I have not watched them but I am certain that we can make it if we play smart," said Cinavilakeba. In the other pool Warriors started their Easter campaign recording two wins accounting for both Pitbulls and G Unit. The Warriors points against Pitbulls was 35-21 and 33-20 win against G Unit. "It was very good and we are happy with how we have performed but it is too early to make any predictions," said Warriors, Aaron Ah Yuk. In the women's competition defending Easter women's champion Wed C defeated the young Mixed Kulture team while Chosen lead by Vika Fifita kept their Easter hopes alive by defeating Suva champs Knights in a very intense encounter. The teams from the West began their matches last night at the Vodafone Arena.
