Basketball Fiji continues with the implementation of the Junior Development Program in Primary Schools

Basketball Fiji continues with the implementation of the Junior Development Program at International Primary School who has a different timetable for holidays. The development clinic which has been running for eight weeks have been conducted on Friday afternoons between 1.00pm -2.30pm at the International School Gym which has been conducted by Basketball Fiji’s Development Officer Laisiasa Puamau. The clinics which is a build up towards the 2010 Primary Schools Competition on the 4th June -  31st July in Suva and Lautoka. Although Basketball Fiji has had setback in holding a Primary Schools Basketball Competition due to the Ministry of education issuing a memo stopping all sporting competitions on Friday’s Basketball Fiji is still optimistic that the Primary Schools will be held on Friday afternoons and will be writing a letter seeking clarification and special consideration for the Primary Schools Competitions to be held on Fridays rather than on Saturdays. The Junior Development Program has been implemented in ten schools in the Suva and Lautoka area reaching up to more than 2000 students per week.
