Secondary schools basketball to kick-off 

The Fiji Secondary School’s Basketball Championship received a major boost today with a generous sponsorship of $10,000 from Twisties for a 5-day tournament that will kick-off on August 29.

Twisties has been sponsoring the annual meet for the last two years. 

“We are grateful to your contribution and effort in ensuring the young people and our future generation stays on track through sports,” Police Commissioner and Fiji Basketball president Iowane Naivalurua said. 

The tournament which will be held at the Vodafone Arena will see a total of 588 athletes from 17 schools fight for top honours for their respective grades. 

Four new schools join the tournament in Tavua College, Lautoka Central, Saint Thomas and Nadi International. 

Tavua College is the furthest traveling school to the meet. The Fiji Secondary School Basketball Championship ends on September 2.
