Thank You

Basketball Fiji today (16th July, 2014) launched its Hoops for Health Program at the My Suva Park.

On behalf of Basketball Fiji and the Hoops for Health Coaches we would like to thank all of you for attending and making today’s launch a success.

We would like to firstly thank Suva City Council for partnering with us on this launch and providing the venue Free of Charge. Also a big thank you to BLK for providing the official coaches t-shirts. Lastly a big thank you to FBC our media partner for providing the sound.

We would like to acknowledge our partners; The Australian High Commission, Ministry of Health, Fiji Disabled Peoples Federation, MIDA, OSEP, ONOC, FASANOC, Fiji Sports Commission and not forgetting the schools ; Latter Day Saints College, John Wesley Primary and Gospel High School who all participated in today’s launch.

Today’s event is only the beginning of bigger things to come from Basketball in Fiji as we prepare ourselves for the Secondary Schools Championships in August, the FIBA U19 Oceania Championships in November and the South Pacific Games in 2015.

Basketball Fiji is currently working on implementing the sport at primary school levels around the Suva and Western cities.

Our hope is to continue the fruitful relationship we have with our partners to ensure that the game of Basketball continues to improves and also beneficial for our children to assist in the fight against Non-Communicable Disease related deaths.

Comment Guidelines: The SportsTG Network is made up of players, families and passionate sports followers like you who have a strong opinion about sport. That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.
