Ba Pro enters basketball meet

ANOTHER round of Lautoka Basketball Secondary Schools competition will be played today at the Multipurpose courts. In the Under 17 grade Natabua High School will take on new comers to the sport Ba Provincial High School in the girls' division. Ba Pro, which is renowned for athletics and rugby, is fielding four teams in the weekly competition. In the U17 boys Ba Pro will then take on Korean school (EDUPIA) from Nadi. In an earlier U17 match EDUPIA beat Ba Pro 25-12. Tournament co-ordinator Simi Cagilaba said it was always good to see new teams join the competition. He said their aim was to spread the sport to more schools in the Sugar City. Cagilaba said the level of competition had improved every week since they started. "We began this event a couple of weeks back. Ba Pro has taken up the sport actively for the first time and have been very good so far," he said.
