Puamau crowned 2010 Sports Administrator of the Year 

Basketball Fiji's Development Officer Laisiasa Puamau was crowned the 2010 Sports Administrator of the Year during the inaugural 2010 Fiji Sports Award presented in partnership with FASANOC and Fiji Sports Council on Friday 04th March 2011 in Suva. Puamau dedicated his win to his loving wife Samantha and child Sowane, and thanked his family for allowing him to spend time away from home to work on the sport that he is so passionate about. He also thanked the executives at Basketball Fiji and FIBA Oceania for their support during 2010 and the hardworking volunteers and associations in particular the Raiwaqa Basketball Players Association, Suva/Laucala and Lautoka Basketball Association for showing a united front and answering the call to further develop the sport of basketball in the country. He also gave thanks to the President of Basketball Fiji Ioane Naivalurua for his continues guidance and vision which had enriched many lives in particular the youths who have taking up the sport and who have been presented with the opportunity to further explore the game through organized year round competitions. The young development officer played an important role in achieving some of the visions and standards set out by the President of BF and one out of the many highlights of his 2010 career was rejuvenating the interest level of the sport at the Secondary Level through organizing the biggest Fiji Secondary Schools Basketball Championship ever witnessed by the basketball community in Fiji, which had a total of 52 teams which more than 500 secondary schools students participated in the annual event. Puamau also thanked his fellow nominee's for their hard work that they have done in their respective sport.
