Referees Level 0 Basketball Clinic to be conducted in April
Referees Level 0 Basketball Clinics
Basketball Fiji would like to help the various associations by organizing a Level 0 Referee’s Clinic. We believe that this clinic will enhance and provide basic knowledge of the rules and aid in professionalizing the sport in the country.
Basketball Fiji understands that Eds Court is already booked by the Raiwaqa association therefore we would like to run the referees Level 0 courses during Raiwaqa’s break in between competitions. A proposed date to run the clinic would be on the 3rd and 4th of April (Friday and Saturday) a week before Easter as the Course should only take 1 to 2 days to complete. We also understand that the Suva Association will also be taking a break before Easter.
We are hoping to target participants from various associations, P.E teachers from various primary and secondary schools and teacher trainee’s from Fiji College of Advance Education. Each participant will be charged $2 to cover printing and binding materials that will be given out to participants.
The theory aspect of the clinic will be conducted at the FASANOC board room that is located on Bau Street (Flagstaff) opposite the Noble House. This should be conducted on Friday evening from 6pm to 8pm. The practical aspect will be conducted at the ED’s court in Raiwaqa on Saturday. The FASANOC Board room has already been booked by Basketball Fiji for the 3rd of April, 2009.
Our three qualified international referees Navi, Joe and Kelepi have all agreed that they will lend us there service in conducting the clinics. Basketball Fiji will assist in providing all relevant referee materials and upon graduation each participant will be presented a FIBA Level 0 referees certificate.
