Lautoka targets top four finish at Easter Championship

Lautoka Basketball League secretary Simi Cagilaba confirmed that four teams from Lautoka have
registered for the Post Fiji Easter Basketball Championship at the Vodafone Arena on Easter weekend.

Bankstown, Lautoka, Knights, Nadi Juniors and defending champs Vikings are the top four
teams from Lautoka that have booked their places for the championship.

Cagilaba said they are defending champions and their main mission is to travel with something back in the bag after the championships.

He is confident all the four teams will make the semifinal of the championship. Our league competitions have been one of the best so far with the inclusion of Nadi Juniors.

It has improved so far and all teams are looking forward to the national championship. The defending champions and our mission is to defend the championship again for another season. All the four teams can defend the title but I believe Vikings wants it more than anybody.

These four teams want a top four finish and I am confident all the four will book their places in the semifinal playing against each other.
They are capable of a top four finish since our league standard has improved a lot, he said.

Cagilaba said Suva teams would a threat to them but they'™ll take each game at a time. Other teams will have the same mentality and we a™re not underestimating any team for that but we'll give our best shot against any team during the championship.

Shaq Attack, Freshmans, Veterans, Idaman and the Raiwai development team have also confirmed their registration for the championship.
