Top seed show form

OVER the last month the International Secondary School Under-19 boys team has had warm up games in the build-up to the National Secondary Schools Basketball Championships starting in Suva today.

International has been ranked the number one team leading into the championships at the Vodafone Arena and Eds Courts.

The side, coached by Jeff Colata, has an impressive team in the U19 grade but will face stiff competition from traditional powerhouse schools Yat Sen, Latter Day Saints and Natabua from Lautoka.

In their warm-up games, ISS recorded wins over the women's side beating them on three occasions and recording wins against a national development U20 team.

However, they were not able to repeat the same success against Jese Sikivou's Freshman team, losing both matches 48-42 and 52-48.

Competition gets under way in Suva today.
