Senator McCreadie’s bill to rehabilitate Tiyan Gymnasium passed by Guam Legislature

The following is a statement from Senator Brant McCreadie regarding today's passage of Bill 388-32. The bill was unanimously passed by the 32nd Guam Legislature.
“I am extremely proud that the Legislature was able to come together to pass Bill 388. Once signed into law, the community will have a true public-private partnership with the Guam Basketball Confederation that will finally restore and expand the Tiyan Gym to its former glory.
Bill 388 authorizes the issuance of tax credits to businesses that contribute to the construction and rehabilitation of the Tiyan gymnasium. This model has proven successful with the soccer facilities in Harmon, and I am sure that the Guam Basketball Confederation will do just as well with the Tiyan Gym. This is the first step towards revitalizing a crucial athletic facility in central Guam, and lays the foundation for more projects like this throughout the island. I thank my colleagues for their support, and look forward to Governor Calvo signing this worthwhile legislation into law.”
