Team Guam Men's in Manila

Members of the Gugam Men's basketball training Team visited the Philippines for a 6 days of workouts and exhibition games recently. The Team went 2-1 in games versus semi-pro and college teams. " It was a great opportunityfor our young players to get some experience. We worked on a few new team concepts and skills training and learned allot from competing against good teams", said Head Coach EJ Calvo.

Team Guam was anchored by 6'9" Center Mekeli Wesley who is registered by FIBA as a Guam player. Wesley grew up on Guam attending Agueda Johnston Middle Schooland father Duenas memorial High School, before moving on to play for BYUin Utah followed by a long professional career in Europe and Mexico.

According to Team Guam Co-Catain Joe Blas "The dynamic Mekeli brings to team Guam is exciting along with our shooters and Team Speed at Guard Positions. He dominates the low post and gives our offense a completelynew look"

Team guam plans to visit Manila again in the Spring in preparation for the Pacific Games in July.
