4 Stars take 2nd win of season

This game was a redemption game for Team Four Stars after the suffering two tough losses against Team Justice and the Auto Spot Phoenix Sons.

“We had a rough start and now we are starting to find each other,” Coach Ryan Camacho said. “And we are starting to play more like a team we used to be. That is why we are coming out more better and focused.”

Coach Camacho explained that the team’s defense is their trademark and now their offense is more efficient, which is what helped the team achieve their first victory of the season. Majority of the team’s offense came from guard Kurt Silva, which scored a game-high 42 points.

“We are starting to play as a team, so we are developing that chemistry now,” said Silva. “It is a good win for us as a team.”

The starter Silva played most of the game with a total of 37 minutes with an efficient night at the foul stripe going 10-of-12 on free throws, 4-0f-8 on three pointers, nine rebounds, six steals, four assists. MVP’s JP Cruz scored a total of 26 points and played 30 minutes.

From the beginning of the third quarter, Team MVP started their comeback attempt with Four Stars playing a bit too comfortable with their lead and Camacho had to burn timeouts to remind them keep the defense and offense balanced.

“When we start to push too much and play out of the ordinary, we lose focus on what we do and that is where we come back with our defense and we get back into focus,” Coach Camacho said.

Although this is Team Four Stars first victory, the team still has a long way to go throughout the rest of the season to improve.

“Everyone knows their role. There’s no superstar on this team and that’s how we play” Coach Camacho said. “That’s how we came out, that is why we got the victory and we are looking forward to more games like this.”

GBA continues on this Wednesday MVP vs. Justice at 6 pm and then the later game between Team Four Stars and the unbeaten Sushi Rockets at 8 pm.
