FIBA U18 Oceania Championships

The FIBA U18 Oceania Championships is set to take place in SUVA Fiji from December 5 th to 10th . Eight Men’s and Women’s teams participating will be split into Groups A and Groups B. The top Men’s and Women’s team from the FIBA U18 Oceania Championships 2016 will represent the Oceania region at the FIBA U19 World Championships in 2017.

Guam Women’s National Team Coach Eddie Pelkey said “Our girls team has been preparing diligently for this big event. Although we have been hit with injuries and lost some key size, I’m still confident in our teams ability to compete and retain our Bronze medal, behind only powerhouse Australia and New Zealand.”

Team Guam U18 Women’s Roster: Elisa Perez, Camarin Hattori, Brittany Meno, Haley Senne, Monica Giger, Shania Bulala, Kylanie Ogo, Therese Fegurgur, Chloe Miranda and Rosita Duenas

Team Guam U18 Men’s Roster: Michael Min, Kobe Sotelo, Takumi Simon, Tomas Calvo, Mark Temerowski, Alschea Grape, DeAundre Cruz, Kyle Gaitan, Tony Shieh, RJ Kranz

U18 Head Coach Brent Tipton said, “The U18 Men’s Team has demonstrated a great work ethic and teamwork in preparation for the Oceania Championships. They Value their teammates on and off the court and are working collectively to achieve our goal to finish in the top three with Australia and New Zealand.”

Pools have been set Team Guam Men’s will be in the same pool as Australia, Fiji and Tahiti, with our Women’s sharing pool with New Caledonia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea.
