The conference was held at the Longshoreman Conference Room and was hosted by Mr Bill Keldermans on behalf of the President of the Palau Basketball Federation, Mr Frank Kyota, who was called to another meeting at late notice.

Mr Keldermans welcomed the media and outlined the importance of the Development Plan and all its components in the future development of basketball within Palau.

PBF Vice President and NBDO, Mr Topps Sungino, addressed the gathering with the reasons that the PBF had embarked in this new direction for the development of basketball.  He stressed that the PBF had highlighted the need for an improvement in the area of coaching and also the need to restructure the various leagues to provide for more competitive forms of competition. 

The media and invited guests were taken through a power point presentation on the Development Plan and the NDP.  All media received a copy of these presentations on a CD.  Following the presentations and question time, all guests enjoyed lunch and a chance to talk further about the progress of basketball into the future.
