Knights retain ISL crown

Defending champion Emmaus High School Knights kept its focus as they managed to retain their title as champions of the 2009 Inter-Scholastic League boy’s varsity basketball league.

The Knights won the crown after beating Mindszenty High School Cardinals, 68-49 in the game played at the Palau National gym.

The Knights exploded in the fourth quarter as they outclassed the Cardinals with a 22-16 output to ensure their title retention campaign. Wade led the scorers for the Knights with 21 points while Mitch topscored for the Cardinals with 13 markers on a losing cause.

In the consolation game, PMA Crusaders drubbed Palau High School Spiders, 64-47.

The event is supervised by the Palau Basketball Federation and the program is a no tobacco and no alcohol event violators and fighting will result in expulsion from the tournament.
