PLAYERS ENCOUNTER OBSTACLES

The course included running the long water drain near the gym with a straddling run, running the stepping stone course through the car park, running the stairs in the baseball bleachers and running across the baseball field and climbing the 8 feet fence.

From there it was another sprint to the long line of flagpoles at the old Legislature building where they ran a slalom course before moving onto the nearby summer house where they completed a belly slide across end on end tables.

Then back into the gym through another slalom course before completing the long belly crawl under the partitions that usually surround the court.

From there to the strength climbing rope, a struggle for some, and then to the chin-up wall, where the team had to complete a set target.

The obstacle course finished with a sprint to the score table.  Coaches were surprised with the times recorded, at least 5 minutes under the target set.

As well as providing a further motivation to players, the exercise also provided some more variety in their conditioning program and proved to be a lot of fun (at least the stories were, after the serious part).
