ISLANDERS CROWNED NBL CHAMPS FOR 2010

In game 1 on Monday night it was the Islanders who won with a big 4th quarter of 35 points to win over MEDA by 90-77.

On Tuesday MEDA turned the table with a strong first half to win by 93-80.

So the scene was set for a titanic battle in game 3.  Islanders boasted several National Team players in Perry Oiterong, Sunshine Soalablai, Obak Mad, Kent Moore and Arnold Undecimo.  However, MEDA had their fair share of national reps in Roydan Renguul, Raymond Watson and Michael Williams. 

Quarter by quarter scores were: first quarter MEDA 14 and Islanders 13, second MEDA 13 and Islanders 24, third MEDA 25 and Islanders 19 and in the fourth it was MEDA 19 and Islanders 19, with a total of 75 to Islanders and 71 to MEDA.

Game high scorer was National point guard Michael Williams of MEDA with 27 and he was ably assisted in his team by Raymond Watson with 26.

For Islanders their scoring was more evenly spread with National center Kent Moore scoring 20, Sunshine Soalabla and Perry Oiterong with 17 each and Roger Santos with 13.  

In the consolation game for 3rd place Team Breakers outscored Team Peched, last year's NBL Champions, by 72 to 68.
