GALAXY TAKES GAME 1 IN GBL FINAL SERIES
The play-off series for top position was close throughout in the first game. Surangel won the first quarter but Galaxy came back in the second to see the score at half time 46-45 in favor of Galaxy. As usual it was Bong Alambra doing much of the scoring for Galaxy and Arnold Undecimo was the main contributor for Surangels.
With an even third quarter of 20 points each it was always going to be a fight to the finish. With fouls building and one player from each team fouled out, the strength of the team benches was going to play a strong part in the final result. In the end it was two successful free throws by Galaxy center Emerson Patenia that gave Galaxy the win.
Game two, and if necessary game three, will be played on Monday and Tuesday this week.
