BULLS, CHOPPERS SCORE WINS IN 2011 FBL SEASON

A well rested Ilacandai Bulls showed its domination in the painted area as they humbled the Slashers, 91-84. The Bulls used their height advantage to dominate the boards with Raul “The Rock” Osias leading their crusade with 26 points while Dennis Castro chipped in 18 as they now lead the team standings with a 3-0 win-loss record.

 Jun Bautista paced the Slashers with 25 markers as they suffered their first loss for a 2-1 mark.

 On the other hand, Aloha Maid Choppers used its third quarter assault as they drubbed PNQ Rams, 80-60. After trailing 18-20 in the first quarter the Choppers, sponsored by Shimbros Inc., spurted a 20-14 run to take the lead and close the first half with a 38-34 lead.

 The Choppers were just starting to heat up as they dismantled the Rams in the third with a 28-12 rampage to establish their biggest lead at 66-46 and from there did not look back. Noel Caparas topscored for the Choppers with 24 baskets as they now take a 1-2 tally while Joe Cervantes led the Rams cause with 18 to remain winless at 0-3.

 In other games, the Guardians won over Hanpa Cardinals 86-81 in overtime while the game between the Spoilers against Mam’l Divers Rangers was halted by the power outage and will be continued towards the end of the first round.

 Games will resume on April 10 with Spoilers versus Guardians at 11.00am followed by the Aloha Maid Choppers – Surangel and Sons tussle at 12.30pm as the Ilocandia Bulls test the Jaguar at 2.00pm, while Western Union meets up with Hanpa Cardinals in the main game at 3.30pm.
