WU, Rangers try to keep winning run

Defending champion Western Union and Mam’l Divers Rangers will try to keep its winning forms as they face separate rivals, Sunday in the resumption of the 2011 Filipino Basketball League (FBL) at the Palau National gym.

Sporting a 12-2 win-loss record, Western Union aims to keep hold of the top spot as they meet the Ilocandia Bulls (8-8) in the main game at 3:30 p.m. Western Union will again rely on the performances of Erwin Senadre, Bong Alambra, Emerson Patenia, Sonny Jacinto and Jefferson Cruz while the Bulls will try to snap a two-game losing skid as they will be led by Joeger Supnet, Raul Osias and Dennis Castro.

On the other hand, Mam’l Divers Rangers (9-6), bids to improve its position in the team standings when they collide with Surangel and Sons (5-10) at 12:30 p.m.

A win by the Rangers will improve their standing going into the quarterfinal round as they will be led by brothers Jay and Joemar Naguit, Mike Guevarra, Nico Hinoza and Rodel Ramos while Surangel and Sons hope to keep its bid for a quarterfinal slot as they will rely on the team of Arnold Undencimo, Deloy Pingot, Melvin Parrinas, Roevic Puso and Ryan Tayag.

In other games, Jaguar will take on PNQ Rams in the curtain raiser at 11 a.m. while the Spoilers meet the Slashers at 2 p.m.
