Ngebard downs Ongos in WNBL Super League

Team Ngebard showed its defensive attack as they went all the way to beat team Ongos, 73-43 Tuesday night in the ongoing 2012 Women’s National Basketball League (WNBL) Super League at the Palau National gym.

Team Ngebard showed its dominance in the first half as they established their biggest lead 38-13 and from there continued their lead to score the win. Belbut paced Ngebard with 11 markers as Holly Yamada topscored for Ongos with 13 on the losing end.

Games are still playing as of this writing and will determine the rankings of the teams going into the playoffs set on July 31. Winners in the play offs will advance to the championship on August 2 while the losers will face off for the consolation.

The tournament follows a two round robin elimination format after which teams will move on to the play offs with the winners advancing to the finals while the losers will face off for the consolation round.
