EHS A score win in ISL Boys Jr. varsity hoopfest
Team Emmaus High School team A nailed their first win as they bested Mindszenty High School team A, 58-36 Friday afternoon in the 2012 Inter-School League (ISL) Junior boys basketball league played at the MHS gym.
Down 10-7 after the first quarter, EHS A spurted a 25-2 run to close the first half with a 32-12 advantage. From there EHS A left no room for a possible MHS A comeback and sail with the win behind the 12 point production of Teibang while teammate Arbedui added 10.
Masao Asanuma paced MHS A with 17 markers on the losing side as teammate Mars Akitaya chipped in 12 baskets.
In other games, PMA B bested MHS A, 66-59; EHS B dumped MHS B, 65-49.
Bracketed in Pool A are PHS Tarantula, MHS team A, EHS team A, PMA team B and PHS Spiders while Pool B is composed of PMA team A, Emmaus High School team B, Palau High School Bubuu, BMS and Mindszenty High School team B.
Top two teams at the end of the elimination round will move to the play offs and organizers remind all teams that fighting will cause expulsion from the tournament, which is supervised by the Palau Basketball Federation (PBF). By Peter Erick L. Magbanua (Island Times News)
