PHS Spiders, EHS Knights take top spots in ISL Boys varsity hoopfest

Team Palau High School (PHS) Spiders and Emmaus High School (EHS) Knights storm their way into the top spot in the team standings after beating respective rivals and earning a slot in the semifinals of the 2012 Inter-School League (ISL) Boys varsity basketball league.

PHS Spiders take the no.1 seed going into the play offs after drubbing Belau Modekngei School (BMS) Awright, 126-46. With the win PHS Spiders sport a 4-1 win-loss record while BMA Awright closed their campaign with a 1-3 card.

On the other hand, EHS Knights settled for the no. 2 seed as they first dispose Mindszenty High School (MHS) Cardinals, 76-33 and went on to blast BMS Awright, 75-29. The Knights also take a 4-1 record in the team standings but conceded to PHS Spiders after their lost last November 13.

Other games saw PHS Bubuu beat MHS Cardinals, 41-30; PHS Bubuu beat BMS Awright, 47-42; and PMA Warriors won over PHS Bubuu, 71-26.

With elimination round over, PHS Spiders will face sister team PHS Bubuu in the play off round on November 26 at 4 p.m. while EHS Knights will take on PMA Warriors in the other play off match also at 4 p.m.

Winners of the play off round will advance to the championship match on November 28 4 p.m. at the Palau National gym while the losers will battle for third place on November 27 also at 4 p.m.
