4x4 Wheelers score win in IP&E NBL 2013
Team 4x4 Wheelers scored their first victory at the expense of team Breakers, 90-67 Wednesday night in the ongoing 2013 season of the Shell IP&E National Basketball League (NBL) played at the Palau National gym.
4x4 Wheelers meant business from the opening quarter as they took a 25-14 lead and then spurted a 22-11 run in the second to take a 47-25 lead at the half. From there, 4x4 Wheelers met little resistance as they went all the way to score the win and sport a 1-2 win-loss record in the team standings.
On the other hand, team Breakers did not easily went down with a fight as they rallied in the third with a 20-11 run of their own to cut the lead 62-45 but was not enough as they fell short to suffer their second loss to also take a 1-2 tally.
Ryu Richard led the pace for the Breakers with 14 as teammates Masao Umedip and Henaro chipped in 13 and 12 baskets, respectively.
In other games, PCC Mesekiu defeated Idid Airwaves, 63-61; Ksau Imgaing Solutions bested Medalaii Stingers, 83-63; WCC Hammers routed Ngermid Rivals, 97-83; FR Spoilers beat 4x4 Wheelers, 87-62; and Peched Raw won over National 19 and Under, 90-82.
Games resume tonight with Idid Airwaves versus FR Spoilers at 6 p.m. while Breakers will meet Medalaii Stingers at 7:30 p.m. Monday night matches will have WCC Hammers against Idid Airwaves at 6 p.m. as PCC Mesekiu will face 4x4 Wheelers at 7:30 p.m.
