Nationals halt Spoilers, 83-72 in IP&E NBL 2013

The Nationals 19 and Under squad kept their winning streak alive as beat the FR Spoilers, 83-72 Friday night in the ongoing 2013 season of the Shell IP&E National Basketball League (NBL) played at the Palau National gym.

Trailing most of the game, the Nationals made their way back into the game with their last quarter stand as they unleashed a 30-12 run to take the win with four of their players finishing the game in double digits anew.

Marvic Ngchar anchored the Nationals’ scoring fray with 28 points as teammates Edward Baysa, RB Dorado and Ray Rumong tallied 13. 11 and 10 markers, respectively while Coco Gonzales finished the game with 15 as teammate Mark Pagayanan muscled his way inside the paint finishing 13 for the Spoilers.

In other games, Breakers won over Ngermid Rivals, 83-76; and Peched Raw downs Medalaii Stingers, 101-80.

Games resume tonight with Nationals versus Breakers at 7:30 p.m. as Peched Raw will face PCC Mesekiu at 9 p.m. Tomorrow’s games will have 4x4 Wheelers against Idid Airwaves at 6 p.m.

Coaches and team representative are reminded that there will be a meeting on June 20, 11:30 a.m. at the PNOC Conference room to discuss the play off schedules.
