Surangel Kings halts Ngermid Rivals as Red Storm beats Ididers

The Surangel Kings came big in the fourth quarter as they went on to beat the Ngermid Rivals as Meyuns Red Storm went on to beat the Ididers in the ongoing IP&E Amateur Basketball League (ABL) at the Palau National gym.

Surangel Kings used a fourth quarter rally as they managed to escape with an 87-85 victory against league leaders Ngermid Rivals, Tuesday night. Trailing 67-54 going into the final quarter, the Kings orchestrated a 33-18 run as they bolted out and took the win.

Arnold Undecimo led the scoring chores for the Kings with 23 while teammates Adam McQuistan, Nico Hinoza and Reid Una Rikrik chipped in 15, 14 and 12 points, respectively.

On the other hand, Marvic Ngchar topscored for Ngermid Rivals finishing with 19 as Elway Ngiraboi added 17 and Ody Yalap and Ray Rumong chipped in identical 16 baskets, in that order.

Meanwhile, Meyuns Red Storm hanged on as they defeated the Ididers, 67-63 Wednesday night. The Red Storm also outscored the Ididers in the final canto with a 21-13 enough to fuel them to a victory.

Sweet shooting Franky Kuchad rallied the Red Storm with 24 as Poland Renguul and Willer Franz clipped 16 and 11 baskets while Madaob Mersai topscored for the Ididers with 12 while teammates Kyoshi Ngwal, Tuchoi Franz and Tobel Techur chipped in identical 10 points, respectively.

In other games, Lawmen PEAC won over the Breakers, 72-70; Raw Surf beat Ngiwal 79ers, 76-71; Ngaraard Red Torch bested Melngoes, 73-64; PCC Mesekiu won over the Stingers, 74-65; Idid 4x4 Wheelers outscored the Breakers, 84-65; Matakui defeated Raw Surf, 81-74; and Ranchers outclassed the Blue Sharks, 109-88.

Games resume tonight with Ngaraard Red Torch versus Ididers at 6 p.m. while Meda Boyz will play Lawmen PEAC at 7:30 p.m.

Monday night games will feature Ngerkesoal Styx against the Ranchers at 6 p.m. followed by the Ikelauans-Breakers tussle at 7:30 p.m. while Lawmen PEAC will meet Matakui in the main game at 9 p.m.

Teams are reminded to use their uniform in every game. The jersey/t-shirts should match with the shorts and their numbers. Teams will be charged $25 for failure to comply and will be defaulted.

Teams this season, teams are divided into two pools. Pool A will have Papago Smooth, Ngarchelong Blue Shark, Ngaraard Red Torch, Hanpa Cardinals, Surangel Kings, Meyuns Red Storm, Melngoes, Ranchers, Ididers and Ngermid Rivals. Pool B will be composed of MEDA Boys, Matakui, Idid 4x4 Wheelers, Ikelauans, Stingers, Lawmen PEAC, Raw Surf, Breakers, Airwaves and PCC Mesekiu.
