FBL games reschedule

Due to the storm warnings over the weekend, the Filipino Basketball League (FBL) decided to postpone the games that were scheduled Sunday at the Palau National gym.

The decision gives teams another week to prepare for the semifinals set on April 13. During the emergency meeting held last April 4 at the TFCP office, the team managers together with FBL Chairman Manny Kimpo decided that the loser of the Western Union-Surangel Stars game for the semis in Division A will automatically be the third placer in the division finals.

In that meeting also it was agreed upon that on the next season of the league strict implementing rules will be incorporated so as to avoid the same fate that the defending champions FR Spoilers did when the formally backed out of the league.

The Spoilers team sent their formal letter of withdrawal last March 29. Kimpo said that the reason for the Spoilers withdrawal is that three of their players namely Michael Bombita, Coco Gonzales and Mark Pagayanan are leaving for good.

Games on April 16 will feature Hanpa Cardinals versus Liquid Skyy Dragons at 11 a.m. followed by the Rams-Jaguar tussle at 12:30 p.m. while Western Union will meet Surangel Stars in the main game at 2 p.m.

Winners will then advance to the division finals while the losers will battle for third place honors.
