FBL Final Four tips off Sunday

And there were four.
A trip to the Season Finals will be at stake when the Final Four of the Filipino Basketball League (FBL) tips off Sunday at the Palau National gym.

After beating the Aloha Maid Choppers last weekend, the Royal Cargo Rangers are set to regain their lost glory as they face a youthful pack Ilocandia Bulls in the opener at 1 p.m.

The Rangers will rely on their veteran line up composed of brothers Jay and Joemar Naguit, Nico Hinoza, Jimmy Domingo, Jayson Tabuyo, Mike Guevarra and Mac and Rogelio Fernandez.

On the other hand, Division A champions Ilocandia Bulls aim to secure another run into the finals as they will be led by the troika of Edward Baysa, Marvic Ngchar and RB Dorado. They will be backed by Raul Osias, Joeger Supnet, Ryan Cacho and Dondon Cabasal.

In the main game, Division A runner up Surangel Stars are set on a collision course against a known rival Western Union at 3 p.m.

Surangel Stars aim to redeem themselves as they will have Arnold Undecimo, ZJ Asido, Rex de Asis, Melvin Parrinas, Bong Gayongorza, brothers Leo and Arnold Magcalas and Ador Hilvano.

Meanwhile, Western Union looks to make a run for the title as they will parade Bong Alambra, Dennis Castro, Al Obrero, Medel Cuyugan and Darwin Fuenteballa.

Winners in the semis will advance to the best of three championship series while the losers will battle for third place honors. The Filipino Basketball League (FBL) is under the supervision of the Palau Basketball Federation (PBF).  By Peter Erick L. Magbanua (Island Times News)
