Meda stuns Peched Raw in IP&E NBL

Team Medalaii Meda Boyz showed grace under pressure as they stunned defending champion Peched Raw, 74-72 Wednesday night in the ongoing 2014 IP&E National Basketball League (NBL) at the Palau National gym.

Meda Boyz opened the game with a 24-17 lead and then slowed down in the second frame as they were outscored 21-15 but maintained a 39-38 lead at the end of first half of play.

Meda Boyz then spurted a 23-11 run in the third as they toss a 62-49 advantage going into the final quarter. Despite being outscored in the final canto, Meda Boyz held on as they scored the win with RB Dorado leading the way with 23 points as teammate Seth Techitong chipped in 11.

On the other hand, Traxx Mark Remeliik topscored for Peched Raw with 20 while ace scorer Douglas Schmidt Jr. finished the game with 17 on the losing end.

In other games, Surangel Kings won over Ngerchemai Ranchers, 84-73; Matakui beat Ngaraard Red Torch, 73-69; and Peched Raw bested Breakers, 81-52.

Games will resume tonight with Ngermid Rivals versus Peched Raw at 7 p.m.
