MOJ Lawmen subdues PPUC in GBL

Team Ministry of Justice (MOJ) Lawmen stood their ground as they managed to beat PPUC Electric Eel, 97-84, Friday night in the ongoing 2014 season of the Rudimch Enterprise Government/Business League at the Palau National gym.

The Lawmen showed that they meant business as they took a 27-14 lead in the first quarter and continued to show their domination in the second as they outscored PPUC Electric Eel with a 24-23 run to close the half with a 51-37 lead.

The Lawmen received less resistance in the second half giving them the green light to continue their pace and eventually taking the win. Jason Brell led the scoring chores for MOJ Lawmen with 29 as teammates Bisa Demei and Sabino Kyota finished with identical 13 markers, respectively.

On the other hand, Melengis Uchel topscored for PPUC Electric Eel with 20 baskets as teammate Adu Clason chipped in 18 on the losing end.

In other games, President’s X-Men beat MOH Band Aid, 86-69; PPR Shark Attack bested PPR Stingrays, 88-85; and Island Rhythm defeated SDA Crusaders, 81-64.

Games will resume tonight with PPR Shark Attack versus PRR Dragons at 6 p.m. followed by the Island Rhythm-PPR Stingrays tussle at 7:30 p.m. while WCTC Powerball will meet SDA Crusaders at 9 p.m.

Wednesday night will have team Malii against KSG Royals at 6 p.m. as President’s X-Men will face MOE Spiders at 7:30 p.m. while Yrang’s Salon will be pitted against Fish n’ Fins Hunters in the main game at 9 p.m.

Thursday night will feature Mason’s Mercury taking on Island Rhythm at 6 p.m. followed by the PPR Shark Attack-NECO match at 7:30 p.m. while PPR Stingrays will test WCTC Powerball in the night cap at 9 p.m.

In other news, the Palau Basketball Federation (PBF) in collaboration with the Palau National Olympic Committee (PNOC) has announced that they are looking for a National Basketball Development Officer.

Application forms are available at the PNOC office and deadline for submission of applications will be on September 12.
