GENDER PARITY GRAND FINAL Set for the weekend

Organizers of the Gender Parity Basketball Competitions (GPBC) have confirmed that the postponed grand final match-up prior to the Solomon Games is now set for this coming weekend.

This Sunday (24.07.16) at the Multipurpose Hall basketball fans will witness another action packed afternoon when the final four in the men’s and women’s division battle it out for the right to be called the inaugural GPBC champions.

In the Men’s division, exciting new basketball team GUNNERS will be taking on the mighty QQQ MARIST basketball club in the grand finale, whilst the 3rd place game will feature the TRAVEL BLAZERS taking on the PINOY SLAHSERS.

In the women’s division, the undefeated SUNRISE basketball club will take on team ANDEL in the grand final match, while SOSA women will go against D. FENDERS for the third place play-off.
The finals are set to tip-off at 12pm and organizers are once again calling on the teams to prepare for the finals and be on time for their games.

Organizers have also indicated that the Prize presentation program will take place immediately after the men’s grand final with the Permanent Secretary from the Ministry of Home Affairs as key guest presenter, including the Solomon Islands Basketball Federation (SIBF) President and GPBC tournament director as supporting officials in the closing ceremony.
