From the kick-off, Solomon Islands showed we were in for a great game. It was an aggressive no- nonsense approach. They managed to hold off Fiji for much of the first half and even managed to push one of the Fijian scorers over the dead-ball line. But the IRB World champions were not to be denied and deserved their 17-0 half time lead.

The second half showed Fiji's dominance and ran out winners 48-0 over a never say die Solomon Islands.
