SSF remembers Oceania Development Officer , Andrew
He arrived in Tornado fashion and whipped away cobwebs that had been weaved in Samoa for the sport of Softball.
In rememberance of a man who had a passion for Softball that had us all dumbfounded and somewhat dismayed. The Samoa Softball Federation dedicates much of our development to Andrew and his whirl wind manner in which he needed, required and wanted things to be done.
He only knew how sick he was and I no doubt understand now why he wanted things done with such urgency.
For 6 weeks Andrew drove me crazy with some of his demands and he will always be remembered by me and my family and the SSF members who tolerated for want of a better word, his mannerisms. He worked extremely diligently for Softball Development in the Pacific Region and we in the Pacific Region have been blessed by his passion, integrity and honesty in all matters of life, in particular Softball.
Andrew will be proud that Samoa Federation of the diamonds. He played a key role in this initiative. Against many odds we managed to get what some saw as a lost cause. He played a key role in providing access to funding via Australian High Commission and also in sponsorship forms via Easton Equipment form Australia.
Samoa Softball Federation already miss his presence greatly and we were looking very much to spending another 6 months with him in Samoa to further develop our sport.
We pray that Andrew's family will be secure in the thought that Andrew did great things here in the Pacific Islands and we appreciated his dedication and passion to softball. He will be sadly missed, but rememebered through the years to come.
