Mr. Vidya Lakhan
President
Pacific Games Council
Dear Mr. Lakhan,
Re: PACIFIC
GAMES COUNCIL GENERAL ASSEMBLY
Just a short note to congratulate you, your
Executive Board and the Pacific Games Associations on the professional manner in
which you organised and conducted the General Assembly in Noumea last week.
Special mention should be made to your
Executive Director, Mr Andrew Minogue who has worked tirelessly to contribute
to the success.
On behalf of the OFC President we would
like to thank you for your consideration to amend the Pacific Games Charter to
allow certain codes like football to participate at the Games and at the same
time use International Federation rules as it relates to eligibility. As
you all know this is very important for football as we use the Pacific Games as
a World Cup qualifying event and rankings for both the men and women.
From the outset OFC is committed to working
with the Pacific Games Council by ensuring football is present at the games and
providing the necessary resources for the infrastructure and organisation of
the football tournament.
Like you we have no doubt that the Pacific
Games in New Caledonia in 2011 will be a great success and we will continue to
work with the Games Council in the future to build on this success.
We trust you are well and look forward to
meeting with you again.
Yours faithfully,

Tai Nicholas
General Secretary

Comment Guidelines: The SportingPulse Network is made up of players, families and passionate sports followers like you who have a strong opinion about sport. That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.
