Funeral Service at Apia Park

The stadium looked resplendent with black and white scalloped fabric draped over the fences and adorned with red ribbons. The solemn crowd rose as the trucks, decorated with Tapa carried in the caskets, even the NZ Police dogs stood quietly as the caskets rolled by.  The Park was filled with approximately 4,000 people seated, while others stood  in any place they could find to both listen and see the service.  A fitting farewell to our victims lost.  Services ended with the burial at Tafa’igata.  We recognize & commend the mammoth efforts of the Apia Park staff who stayed late the previous night to ensure the Park was ready for the next days services.
