The Dawn to a New Beginning

Gym 2, Squash Courts

On Thursday 28th August 2008, the Samoa Sports Facilties Authority (SSFA) and the Samoa Squash Rackets Association (SSRA) signed a landmark lease agreement which entailed that the squash courts located at Gymnasium 2, Faleata, will now be leased exclusively by the aforementioned.

It has taken two months of intense, yet friendly negotiations before mtutaly gratifying and beneficial terms were reached.

Credit must be given to the Samoa Squash Rackets Association namely Samau Etuale, the President and his team who were always honest and receptive of the SSFA regulations and demands, whilst the SSFA pays due kudos to Ms. Lufilufi Rasmussen, who led negotiations on behalf of the SSFA.

The Samoa Sports Facilities Authority is currently negotiating with over 20 clubs and associations in leasing of the fields and gymnasiums which will allow each group a certain amount of autonomy to grow and develop, whilst it also assists in alleviating some of the monetary encumber for the SSFA.

The Board of the SSFA as chaired by the Honorable Minster in charge - Faumuina Tiatia Liuga, is unanimous in its full support of the lease agreements whilst the sterling work of the attorney Generals office in formulating and formalising all agreements cannot go unmentioned.

On behalf of the SSFA, we wish the Samoa Squash Rackets Association every success and we look forward to announcing more lease agreements in the near future.

Signed the Chief Executive Officer
