Faleata Lawn Bowls Club Signs Lease

The occasion began with an opening  prayer given by the Samoa Sports Facilities Authority CEO Reverend Siaosi Salesulu after which the Prime Minister gave a short speech saying how nice it was that Samoa had such a variety of sports, especially sports that are not only for the young, but one that also includes the elderly, the sport of bowls.  After all was said, it was time for the Associate Minister of Foreign Affairs & Trade the Honourable Vaeolenofoafia Tapasu, who is also the President of SASNOC, to make the first bowl of the day, officially opening the Faleata Lawn Bowls Club.

The Honourable Faumuina Tiatia Luiga also tried his hand at bowling and looked very comfortable out on the bowling green.  Club members were also on hand to witness the occasion, with refreshments being served afterwards.  The Faleata Lawn Bowls club is only the third bowling club to be established in Samoa.  "This is a growing sport" said Treasurer, Rudy Meredith who looked forward to greater membership growth.  We also look forward to seeing bowling go from strength to strength.  Our congratulations to the Faleata Lawn Bowls Club, we wish you all the best for future.
