Special Olympics News

The Special Olympics is an inclusive sports program for people with Intellectual challenges from the ages of 2 years to 100 years and up!  The Special Olympics is a provider of year-round training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual challenges.  They offer support & friendship for both athletes & families and you do not need to be attending a school to be involved. This is a great opportunity for any one to become involved as a coach and/or volunteer, as full training and on going support and/or development will be provided if you are interested in this endeavour.

They have a Young Athletes Programme if you are interested, they even play Bocce (Pronounced Bockey) & have an Athletics Programme.  If you are interested in participating in the Special Olympics in any way, (as they welcome interested volunteers), please Contact Karleen Rasmussen, who is the Special Olympics National Director for Samoa at sosamoa@gmail.com or call her at 0685-776 2806.  We congratulate the Special Olympics people, who recently had their training and also conducted games at Apia Park and a number of other Samoa Sports Facilities venues in and around Apia.

Comment Guidelines: The SportsTG Network is made up of players, families and passionate sports followers like you who have a strong opinion about sport. That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.
