Kids Grateful - FIBA Oceania donated basketballs

FIBA Oceania has gifted 30 size 5 and 25 size 6 basketballs to help with the development of junior basketball in the Cook Islands. "All we had to do was get them here" reports Liz Sosene, President of CIBF.

After starting up the Mini/Youth Basketball programme late last year is was obvious that we were going to need more resources. Fortunately for us FIBA Oceania came to the party with the free basketballs.

The FIBA Oceania basketballs have 5 colourful hands printed on them to represent:-
* a basketball and the globe: the world of basketball.
* the hands of all the peoples of the world: all races colours and creeds.
* a game for men, women, boys and girls.
* the five colours representing the 5 continents.
* the colours linking us to the family of Olympic Sports.

Receiving the basketballs has enabled us to expand our Mini/Youth Basketball programme and the kids just love them as they are so colourful.

CIBF would like to send a big Maitaki Maata (Thank You) to FIBA Oceania for their continued support of Basketball in the Cook Islands and encourage all other member federations to embrace kids basketball.
