The Board of the Australian Rugby League recently approvoed the implementation of the 5 metre rule for all Under 13 and Under 14 years competitions nationally from the start of the 2010 season.
Please note this is NOT a trial - this is a permanent change to the Laws of the Game
The decision has been pending for some years. 5 metre trials have been held in various areas across Austrlaia and significant research was undertaken. A "whole of game" approach was taken to this issue and a detailed approval process followed.
