Wheelies show who's boss!
The NSW Department of Education and Communities last week held a disability sports gala day at the Brick Pit in Thornleigh! Four lucky schools attended with around 50 students with all kinds of disabilities participating in a number of sports including Rugby League, Softball, Golf, Basketball and Tennis.
Rugby League was of course the highlight of the day, especially crashing through the hit shields…..even if they were in wheelchairs! Another popular game for the “wheelies” was a kick target game, as well as some very fast paced relay races!
The day was all about opportunity and to include everyone, no matter what their capabilities were. A super day was had by all, it’s very rewarding to see these kids have some fun and learn some new skills!
