U13 & U15 WESTS LEAGUES CUP GRAND FINAL DAY

WESTS LEAGUES CUP:GRAND FINAL PREVIEW

The main game is the U/15 Division 1 Grand Final between Camden HS and Airds HS. Airds HS will be looking to defend the inaugural Wests Leagues Cup that they claimed last season, while Camden HS will be looking to complete their undefeated season in the best possible way. For the Airds HS team, Sydney CHS rep Ratu Tagive, powerful centre Nigel Fiti and big prop Niko Leiataua will be crucial, whilst for Camden HS, skilful prop Neil Begovitch and the talented halves pairing of Mat Brasington and Tom Barrett hold the keys to victory.

Airds HS will start favourites, but with Brendan Reeves, an ex- NRL star coaching the Camden HS team, anything can happen. Kickoff is at 3.40pm and will be preceded by Jessica Mitchell of Campbelltown Performing Arts High singing the National Anthem.

The U/13 Division 1 clash sees Ingleburn HS make their maiden Wests Leagues Cup grand final appearance. Ingleburn HS will be looking to lower the colours of a strong Airds HS team to claim the inaugural U/13 title.

Airds HS are to be complimented on making both Division 1 Grand Finals- a fantastic achievement for the Campbelltown- based school. Ingleburn HS will look to the talents of Sonny Bristow, Junior Gumapas and Brendan Salcedo, while Airds HS have the vast abilities of Thomas Sauvao, Jeremiah Leato and Ross Leifi at their disposal. Very little will separate the two teams. Kickoff is at 12 Noon.

James Busby HS will be looking to claim their first WLC title at 2.15pm against defending U/15 Division 2 title-holders Picton HS. From Liverpool, James Busby HS have enjoyed an excellent season, losing only one game. Timothy Ta and Steven Parker are players to look out for in their ranks. For Picton HS, Dale Muhleisen, Mitchell Hoy and Peter Molden will be looking for big games.

Ambarvale HS have had an exceptional first season in the Wests Leagues Cup, playing in both the U/15 Division 3 (1.15pm KO) and U/13 Division 2 (11am KO) deciders. Both teams have played with tremendous spirit all season and will be looking to finish their years on the best possible notes. In the U/13s, Ambarvale HS will look to the talents of robust forwards Talavou Sauni, Dave Tavita and outstanding halves prospect Nathan Sauchella to claim victory, while in the U/15s, halves pairing Barry Leasi and Simon Brown will have to be heavily involved if the `Two Blues' are to secure the premiership.

Ambarvale's U/13 opponents will be Lurnea HS, while their U/15 foes will be Casula HS, with both schools coming from the Liverpool end of the WLC.

For Lurnea HS U/13s, classy fullback Joseph Kahi, strong prop Kayl Matthews and crafty half Luke O'Brien will be prominent while for Casula U/15s, Matthew Hanna, Jarrod Wicks and Jason Supple are players to look out for.

In the first clash of the day, new high school John Edmonson HS will be seeking to claim the U/13 Div 3 title from Camden HS. For John Edmonson HS, Vili Kaci, Scott Oswald and Jake Townsend will be prominent while for Camden HS, Matthew Crouch, Mitchell Brasington and Chris Holmes will be key players.

The generous support of Wests Leagues Campbelltown will allow all Premiership winners to receive custom made polo shirts in school uniform design. The Division 1 man of the matches will receive framed Wests Tigers jerseys, while in the lower divisions, man of the matches will receive assorted Wests Tigers memorabilia.
